READ OUR OPEN LETTER TO VICE CHANCELLOR THORNE& OUR FULL BRIEFING STATEMENT ON THE TRUTH OF THE PROPOSED NURSERY CLOSURE
There is an acute shortage of Early Years (1-4) childcare provision in Cambridge. Waiting times for a nursery place in the city are in excess of 12 months and there are insufficient places in Cambridge to provide for all our children.
THE IMPACT
Almost all the 41 families affected will be unable to find alternative care before the closure.
- Most student parents will have to abandon their studies
- ARU lecturers & staff will be forced to seek other employment
- Many community parents will have to quit their jobs
There’s been no consultation. No alternative provision. City Councillors & MP Daniel Zeichner are against this. Community, business and faith groups oppose this.
We need YOUR support and we need it NOW!
It’s such a lovely nursery, my daughter whom is now 14yrs old attended this nursery, and now my son whom is now 4yrs. Some of the staff are still there whom cared for my daughter 14 years ago!!
They ll soon be jobless, to make way for a lounge?!
